Sunshine
I've been waiting for sunshine this whole week. I was finally rewarded yesterday but unfortunately only in the evening.
First, a few pictures from earlier in the day.
I don't know if you can see it (you might have to click the picture) but the little red thing in the center of the picture was what I was trying to catch. It's some kind of mini flea/spider thing.
I loved how this barnacle looked like the mouth of a shark.
This is actually a fish bone that I found on the beach. I really liked the texture.
I really liked how this shot turned out.
Later, the sunshine showed up and the sunset was pretty amazing.
Let's hope the sunshine will come back soon.

Animals
A few animal photos I took today. The amount of light coming in through the windows was minimum since it was overcast outside but I tried to deal with it. My camera hates artificial light, especially the kind with a tinge of orange or yellow to it.
Animals are some of my favorite things to photograph. I haven't taken any photography classes (yet) so I don't know much about lighting a subject. Human portraiture is really tricky if you don't know how to light it correctly. I've found I can take ok pictures of animals though. They're easier to light, as long as I have some natural light most of the photos will turn out ok.
First are some pictures of my cat. Like most cats she loves to nap, especially on the couch. She doesn't like to be disturbed. I've had her since she was 2 weeks old (she was so cute), if only I was as photo happy and had had my nicer camera back then.
Similar photo but she had her eyes open (she can look so annoyed when she wants to, of course I was disturbing her cat nap).
I liked the way the white throw is fuzzy at the bottom of the picture, gives a little bit of framing.
Next, the dog. The lighting wasn't that good, too much orange.
He's pretty old (for a lab) and his muzzle is graying. It doesn't stand out that much because he is naturally a light color.
I really liked this picture. He was focusing on some noise behind me.
He loves food. If anyone is cooking or eating any food he's watching them.
A close up. Not even a camera in his face will distract him from the prospect of food.
Here's to more sunshine. Lets hope for better weather! I have some photos from the past month in reserve though. Thanks for all of your support. Every single comment is appreciated.

2010
Happy New Year. I would have posted sooner but I haven't taken any good pictures. I went out yesterday into the drizzle which was much more rainy then I thought it was and tried to take pictures but the weather sent me back inside quite quickly. I went to the library the day before yesterday though and got 5 photography books. Mostly nature/outdoor books, one on travel photography, and one on photographing your dog. I'm hoping to use some of the tips from that book to take pictures of my dog today. I was also going to see if I could use the tips to take photos of my cats. Hopefully I'll be back later to upload some of those pictures.

Blogging at the Speed of Light
Yet another blog post, maybe not two in two days but two in three. I would have posted yesterday except for the fact I took only about 7 pictures, some more lamp ones similar to the ones I posted last time (except not as cool) then one of foam (under fluorescent light it wasn't amazing) and bread (not interesting). Beautiful sunshine outside today, coaxed me outside and I took some pictures down on the beach.
First the sunshine was beautiful, even though it was crisp outside.
It took me awhile to find something to photograph. Ok, not really but I wasn't sure what to photograph until I came across a little section of the beach littered in barnacles.
I miss the sunshine so much when I feel like taking photos. It's a photographer's best friend, sometimes.
I found this cute little snail and had to take a picture of it before it slid away.
Then I had to take a picture of the lovely sunshine shining through the shell.
These barnacles looked so pretty in the sunlight.
I keep on finding pieces of gorgeous red crab shell on the beach (I have a claw picture I didn't post and the little red piece of shell on the rock in the last post were both a similar crab).
The kelp was beautiful in the sunlight.
I tried to get the beautiful sheen that you could see in this shell. You can kind of see it at the top, an aquamarineish, bluey, and pinky sheen right below the dark part of the shell.
The dried kelp had twisted in a very interesting way.
Loved the pretty crab shell.
More barnacles.
This shell was also beautiful in the sunlight.
This one was like the other shell picture from the last post.
Really liked how this picture turned out. The kelp was actually a really bright green but it didn't translate.
How the sunset looked after I was done taking pictures on the beach.
I saw the water droplet and had to take a picture of it.
This post turned out much longer then I thought it was going to be. Well, shows that I took more pictures then I thought, or at least that they translate into a pretty long blog post. Well, lets hope that I'll have more photos for tomorrow.

A Gap of Time
Where oh where has the time gone. I find myself putting off posting for I don't know why. Here it is, practically months later and I've only posted twice. Well, that will be boosted to three posts by today. I've taken a whole load of pictures and there are far too many to post but I'll post some I took today and some of my favorite from the past what is it again..... months I suppose. Ok... well here goes.
Grandparent's old phone (I love old Rotary phones)
Light on a ceiling fan, I loved how the lighting turned out.
Now for photos that I've taken and particularly liked over the past, what ever expanse of time it is.
Two lovely sunsets (I think they were the same evening. Definitely shows how sunsets can change)
There are still some other photos to upload but I'll upload some later. This will hopefully allow me to post some tomorrow. Cross your fingers, I'll try and get back as soon as possible. Thanks for all of your kind comments, they are appreciated whole heatedly.

Rain, Rain, Will you lead to Snow?
After such a lovely day on Sunday the weather has turned to this.
Rain returned yesterday and it has continued to stay around today. Thankfully, sun breaks will peep through the clouds and there is actually a lovely one presently. Rain does leave that wonderful mystifying beauty, rain drops. There is a plant outside the window that collects them almost as if it wanted to show off a gallery in a museum. It was the perfect inspiration and I took these pictures.
I love using my macro setting. It is probably the most used setting on my camera. I loved these pictures because I have been photographing water droplets recently. It feels so awesome to capture a picture that you like.
